My Creative Space

Thursday....

I haven't been very creative today with my hands but my mind has been working overtime!

I was very fortunate to be given 3 Kimonos this weekend by my friends neighbour. I had mentioned that I was looking for nice Japanese style material to make up some Furoshiki
and she gave me these which had been under her bed!

Oh MY...How lucky am I!!

I have hung the cream coloured one in my studio as it was so nice and just begging to be displayed ( I just have to steam the wrinkles out, sorry about the photo).

I will use the brown one for my sewing. And I have swapped the blue one with Sashiko Started It.

Not sure what we are swapping yet? We are still working it out. The lovely Lis pointed me in the direction of that brilliant store in Melbourne Ziguzagu where I was able to find some lovely Japanese printed material and many other yummy things to add to my wishlist!!

Can't wait to see what she does with it!

Now head over to Kootoyoo and check out all the other lovely creative spaces.....I think 'lovely' has been my word for today :-)

  2. I love the kimonos, aren't you lucky! I find myself using, lovely, fabulous and gorgeous all the time. I think I need to come up with some new words. Off to look in the thesaurus and dictionary.

  5. Wow, Jenni, they are all gorgeous but I am delighted to be swapping the blue one with you - the pattern reminds me of the watery sashiko stitch I've used recently. Looking forward to sealing our exchange and to seeing what you do with your brown kimono, it looks lovely material and I adore the way you're displaying the cream kimono, more superlatives to follow!! I feel so honoured that you are sharing your luck with me.

  7. Bloggers power! Lis mentioned that a kimono is going her way so I have to come and have a look. Glad to hear you visited Ziguzagu (originated from me ha!). Both Lis and I were in Japan earlier this year and that how we met. I love that brown kimono, it's very traditional - Enjoy Nat
