TGIF

Its Favourite Things Friday and I have to tell you my FAVOURITE Flower is.....

The Gardenia! LOVE it! That scent is just divine....

I have been playing around with this brilliant tutorial over at Fox's Lane. Kate uses her ric-rac on her gorgeous dresses she makes for girls and I have always loved it and thought it was really hard....

but look, I have done it....only about another 3 metres to go for the project I have in mind!

I have been doing some more needle felting and thought you would like to see this one. I made this for a friends birthday. It is Millaa Millaa Falls, a special place for both her and myself and both our wedding photos were taken there.

Want to see some more creativity today? Pop over to Natural Suburbia for Creative Friday.

Have a great weekend,

Love the ric rac, will add that to my list to try,
I am amazed at how much detail there is in your needle felting, it's really lovely.

  6. Another flower I love, love the smell on a hot summers night. I wanted gardenias in my wedding bouquet but they told me they would be brown by the time I got to the ceremony so I had tulips instead.

  8. mmm...Gardenias! I have two shrubs planted at the front of my driveway. I can see why they are a favourite. Your ric rac is absolutely lovely! Can't wait to see what project for which you're using it. Happy FTF! :o)

  9. So Lauri drives you to the needle too, does she? I knew she would. I don't believe gardenias are real, even when I hold them in my hand. My arena is all mud, by the way. I'd forgotten how I hate winter - and it's not even here yet.

  11. Gardenias are so beautiful. I don't see them very often here, unfortunately, except in florist's bouquets, because ours is not the right climate for them.

You made that ric-rac? Wow! And the felted wool is fabulous too!

  12. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful waterfall, I am so stunned by your needle felting skills, I've never seen anything like it!
I laughed really loudly when I read your comment about yelling at the driver for opening his door on you, it made me feel heaps better and I was laughing at the thought of a fiesty Aussie yelling at this poor guy ha ha ha I'm sorry for you though, I hope you didn't get hurt too badly!
Looking forward to seeing what this ric-rac is for.... a horse blanket trim? I'm thinking of loooog things!

  17. LOVE the waterfall. I think you are so clever Jenni.
I am very excited that you made the ricrac too.
I can't wait to see what it gets stitched on.
And yes, I machine sew it on. I am waaaaaaaaaaaay too lazy to hand sew anything except buttons.

  18. Love that ric rac--I never even heard of it being handmade. One more thing I'll have to try some day. And the felted waterfall is very special, especially since you both had your wedding photos there. I'm sure she'll treasure it. Thanks for sharing on FTF.
