My Creative Space

Todays Creative Space is for my SIL

She is away from home and family having tests in Brisbane which means lots of boring waiting around and resting.

I started this project to send her a bit of home everyday.
Most patterns have been taken from the brilliant book 100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet by Lesley Stanfield which Alice introduced us too....its a lovely book and has instructions as well as diagrams for crochet. I have been challenging myself to make the flowers from the diagrams. I have to admit I would be lost on some of them without the written instructions, but I'm getting there.

I hope you enjoy these as well....

A is for Aster....

I did put some little googly eyes on him and sew in the tail but this is the only photo I got.....

4 leaves for luck....

Lots of lying around....

Sashiko inspired....

If you don't know what this one means just ask me :-)

Another favourite flower....

Sorry taken late at night with bad light, but trust me it is pretty colours....

Check out who else is playing today over at Kirsty's

  1. I have this book too! Lovely flowers.

  2. That is such a gorgeous thing to do!
I have that book too, I must dig it out and have another look now I can knit.

  3. I was given this book recently ... maybe I should actually think about making something from it soon. Your flowers are beautiful.

  4. Jen - your heart is just lovely. I want that book now, so I'll have to see if we have it stateside. But really - I love a series of small gifts - it shows so much love. So much meaning. I feel honored to know a woman like you - I just really do.

  5. Your creations are so beautiful Jenni! I think I need that book too:)

  6. Oh how beautiful! You are sucha sweetie. I wanna get my hot lil hands on this book for sure! Your sisters in my home town! If she's well enough for a visit tell her to come on out to the northey street market-we can have a chai together at the back o my stall!

  7. What a brilliant idea! Lovely lovely!!! Now your email makes more sense to me!!! Go cream me thinks.
So wonderful. I am smiling ear to ear.

  8. Loving all of these, especially the Aster. You have made such a good job of them. Surely worth the blood, sweat and (hopefully not!) tears...........

  9. This is such a sweet thing to do! Heart warming and super cute!

  10. they're lovely Jenni! I was wondering when you were going to show your flower creations! I've been making a couple too, so thought of you when I was hooking away! To the pattern NOT the diagram! I discovered from this book that diagrams are right handed so are the opposite to what I make!
What a lovely gift, you're FIGJAM for sure!

  11. Oh Jenni! These are just lovely. What a sweet SIL you are!

  12. They are lovely Jenni, what a wonderful thing to do. I have that book too, must dig it out and give some of them a try.

Thanks for visiting my space and leaving a makes my day :-)
