That brings back memories! My mum spun a lot when my sister and I were children, I'm not sure if she still has her spinning wheel or not though, haven;t seen it out in many many many years.Happy PJ Day! I actually got out of mine today (but only into trackies and a comfty jumper)
I haven't spun fleece for so long. I have a spinning wheel in my shed that I used back in the dark ages when I spun fibres for my art works at college. What are you going to make with it?
My Mum has two of those . (and I have one too!) I wish I'd spent the day in my pyjamas...jealous.
I'd love to have a go at spinning Jenni - I've watched so many utubes on it! I was tempted to buy a drop spindle but then I'd have to get some roving from somewhere and learn how to dye it too. What a great activity to do, especially in your pj's.
Now that sure is a yummy colour fiber!!! Can't wait to see what it spins up like...Jodie :)
Looks like you are keeping busy. Look forward to seeing what that all becomes.Enjoy
Did I know you had a wheel? That looks so great - productive, artsy, craftsy and COMFY.
ahahahaha... LOVE IT Jeni - what a wonderful sight !! :D .Like I mentioned to you I too am doing the same only carding a whole lotta fleece .D ...can't wait to see your results.
I have never had any experience of spinning, but it looks kind of rythmic and peaceful...........
Some days I would like to stay in bed knitting, let alone staying in my pyjamas! I went to Ruth marshall's website, isn't her work wonderful! Thank you for the link. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've spun. Alice, over in Crochet with Raymond, has started spinning her own yarn too. Love Vanessa xxx
Such a cool photo of you! I have memories of my mum and her friends all spinning. I didn't have the patience for it. It's magical to watch though.
love the colour of the fleece Jenni! And can't wait to see the spun result, make sure you show us!I'm still in my PJs even though it's tuesday, apart from a walk at lunchtime Ive been in them all day and its great! I will be doing some spinning later on if I can muster the energy :ODHave a lovely wednesday XXX
How lovely, I just think spinning looks like some kind of mysterious magic to make that yummy coloured fluffy stuff turn into yarn!!
Oh, this is on my wish list to learn things...right behind throwing a bow on a pottery wheel. And theres a tafe course nearby where I can make the pottery so this'll be moving up to the number one position on wish list soon! As if I need any more yarn! It looks like such a great way to spend time-show us your yarn, won't you!
Looks as great a thing to do as anything - beats cutting the grass any day!
Thanks for visiting my space and leaving a comment...it makes my day :-)
