School Holiday Creativity

Its school holidays and right on schedule in came the rain....

The tent was flattened and soaked, what else were we going to do?....

The Skate Park of course  :-)

Do you think the rain was the only reason that we had the park to ourselves???

Scary!!

I managed to finish a hat and mitts for a friend down South who requested some warm items for her week at an outdoor horse event....

I really love how that stitch turned out, nice and chunky!  I think I might just have to make myself a cowl now.

My spinning has progressed to the resting stage before I can ply the singles together, lovely colours aren't they.  Look how bright the white is!!  I am going to dye that when I have figured out the instructions.  I have imperial instructions and this is a metric country....will have to put my maths head on!

And how about these little cuties....

The little furry fellow is turning out a bit like his Dad.  We might be keeping him  :-)

Who is Lucy and where is she now?

Lucy Rabbit is my little darling who decided that she wanted to spend this year travelling so she asked me to arrange for her to visit my lovely friends in Blogland.

Bag packed and ready to go  :-)

She was lucky enough to start her journey with my Sister In Law and they both caught the plane to Brisbane where Lucy accompanied Carolyne on her Doctors visits and then stayed with her keeping her company before she left to come home.  Lucy travelled on to stay with Kate and her family of Dash Robin Designs.  HERE is her post about Lucy's visit, they had such a fun time.

Lucy then travelled on to Marg of Sunshine Paradise and HERE is her post about the fabulous time they have been having together.

To make it easier for us all to follow along on Lucy's adventures I have made her a Blog of her own, where her host family can post pictures and stories about her visits.

Want to follow along??

Hope to see you there.....

Pyjama Party Sunday

Today I did spend all day in my PJ's until I changed at 4 o'clock and went for a horse ride, I probably could have done that in my PJ's too as we live in such a remote area but horse hair is a B***H to get out of your clothes, not to mention the washing machine    :-)

So what was I up to all day in my PJ's?  Well  I spent the day using this....

I made this....

and this....

and I even cut out the material  for Billy's quilt....

All in all I had a very productive day, might just have had something to do with Aunty Carolyne taking the boys to the Stock Cars for most of the morning and Billy delivering firewood all day as well.  House to myself!!  Bliss!

Here is a photo of Ebony's gloves, modelled by Cullen.  I can show you the outside now as she has received them for her birthday, and very happy with them she was too....

Pop over to Sunshine Paradise to see who else is playing this week  :-)

Favourite Things Friday

Its Friday Linky day....

This week after dusting I realised that one of my favourite things that I look at every day rarely gets shown to anyone else!  Favourite Things Friday is the perfect opportunity to show off these items that are a treasure of mine....

This gorgeous set belonged to my Grandma.  It sat on her dressing table and when I stayed I watched her use it every morning and every night.  It reminds me so much of her.

And it is Cherry Blossoms which are another of my favourite things   :-)

Pop over to Mrs P's and see what other's favourite things are.

International Yarn Bombing Day

image from knittaplease

June 11th is International Yarn Bombing Day and I have done a small amount of yarn bombing myself.  I was full of good intentions to something cool for today but I just ran out of time.......

So I will leave you with the master  OLEK and my favourite piece of yarn bombing ever, amazing and certainly an inspiration  :-)

Here is another brilliant  yarnbombing, A Knitted Wonderland by  Magda Sayeg . She has a very colourful site....

Thank you

Blogger is being very naughty with my posts, but I gather that I am not the only one which means they are not being selective so I won't take it personally.  My comments from all you lovely people did trickle thru eventually.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all the lovely wishes and hugs sent my way.  I have had a few slow days and spent some quiet time reliving the good old days with my mate.  I had Tally for 15 years so we had done a lot of great things together.   At one stage of our partnership I used to ride him to work and he used to wait in the paddock with all the dairy cows and then I would ride him home.  One time we finished late and it was dark by the time we left for home and he took me home.  I couldn't see a thing but he could and I just let him have his head and he walked me home. He was such a good boy.  Although I had him a long time he came from the racetrack so his hard early life eventually caught up with him and his arthritis was nasty in winter.

At least now he is free from pain and doesn't have to suffer thru this winter which is promising to be a cold one....first day of winter today and it was 0 degrees this morning,  Brrrrr!

I'm going down to the horse paddock now to cuddle and chat with the rest of the gang as they too are a bit out of sorts now their fearless leader is no longer with us.  The company is healing  :-)
