  1. I really like programs like this. And all it takes is a person to start it going. I don't know how long it will last. I hope it perpetuates. The LDS church has a program it calls the Perpetual Education Fund - the gifts of money to that fund have allowed people in situations like this to afford to go to school and learn a trade and start a business, making a big difference in their communities, teaching them things that in their part of the world, are just not known - mathematics or knitting - you know Jen, I think you and I just don't know how lucky we really are.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing this, Jenni! The success of our fundraising so far has exceeded our hopes. It is thrilling to think of what that makes possible and what we could do if it continues. All the love and support that is coming our way from the knitting community is incredibly encouraging. As a thank you to knitters, who, let's face it, can knit their own hat and scarf, we just added our patterns as a special reward. Oh, and an on-line version of a Stitch and Bitch, with a very special guest.

  5. Wow Jenni! Just want to know that they are fully funded now! I am sad that I did not get to back this one! It hit home, posted in Australia, started by a woman in Ithica (near where my father lives), for Philippine women (college room mate) with yarn, from Portland, Maine (where my sister lives!) I have been slacking on the blogs this year! May have to rethink this! Thank you for posting and support this one! Love and Blessings!
